A guided climb of the highest peak in the lower 48 states. We climb via the mountaineer's route a classic 2-3 class designed for first time climbers or experienced hikers. Mt. Whitney offers another exceptional training ground for intermediate to advanced climbers wanting to expand their experience in the winter environment. Climbing the highest peak in the lower 48 states is a exciting challenge during the winter months. Learn and practice the skills needed to climb similar peaks around the world. The conditions during the winter months on Mt. Whitney will give you the experience you need to climbing bigger and higher peaks in the world as well as to tackle those winter ascents in the lower 48 states.
Instruction includes: Rope team travel, Snow protection placement, high camp establishment, avalanche hazard evaluation, review of ice ax and crampon skills, snowshoeing skills and much more. Expand your climbing into the winter season! This course culminates with an attempt of Mt. Whitney via the Mountaineer's route.

Advanced Mountaineering Equipment List

The summit of Mt. Whitney is the highest point in the contiguous United States. Both the East Face and East Buttress take routes directly to the summit. Both routes are Sierra Classics. Basic climbing skills and excellent physical conditioning are all that are required for this three-day adventure. The first day is the approach hike to our base camp. Day two starts early as we head for the summit and descend back to our base camp via the mountaineer's route. Our final day is spent descending the scenic hike out to the Whitney Portal trail head. Book with a friend or book as single and we will post the available date for you with the option to climb private with the guide or cancel and receive a full refund!
