Designed to help build essential skills for working in avalanche-prone environments, with a focus on decision-making and hazard assessment. The course is ideal for those looking to work in ski patrols, avalanche control, assistant heli or cat skiing guides, snow observers for avalanche advisories, or highways avalanche technicians. Students will engage in daily operational meetings, collect and analyze data in the field, assess and communicate risk, and practice safe travel techniques in avalanche terrain.
The Pro 1 course is a pass/fail certification designed to prepare new workers in the avalanche industry.
