Mt Russell 14,094 ft. is a massive peak just north of Mount Whitney. The 7th tallest peak in California is probably best known for having the state’s best Sierra Nevada climbing. Routes include: East Ridge 4th Class – Widely considered the best 4th class route in the Sierra. Fishhook Arete, 5.9 – A stunning arete twists around the southern boundary of the summit, with nine pitches of alpine climbing.
Mithril Dihedral, 5.10a – Climbing the southwest corner of Mt Russell to the west of the Fishhook Arete.

Mt Muir, 14,018 ft., is just south of Mt Whitney and can be climbed in conjunction with an ascent of Mt Whitney and can be approached via the Whitney trail with a short section of 3rd class climbing. The east side of Mt Muir is a near-vertical cliff about 1,400 ft high and can be climbed via a more technical route 4/5 class, the north side of the east buttress. Note: Special permission is required for us to guide this route, contact us early in the climbing season – June-September.

An alpine route involving rock scrambling, cross-country hiking, and a short bit of roped climbing.

White Mountain, 14,252 ft, is the highest peak in the White Mountains of California, the third highest mountain in the state after Mt Whitney and Mt Williamson. It is the only fourteener in the contiguous United States, not in the Rocky Mountains, the Cascade Range, or the Sierra Nevada.
